In January of 2009, my husband Miguel and I discovered we were pregnant. Soon after, we decided to sublet our Brooklyn apartment for a year or two and return to his hometown, Oaxaca, Mexico. In the midst of the Swine Flu Scare, we boxed up our lives, donned our facemasks and boarded a plane without looking back. We stayed South of the Border for about a year before returning to our beloved Brooklyn.
But there must be something in that NYC water, because just short of a year after being back, we ended up pregnant AGAIN! Since we had had such a wonderful birth and post partum experience in Oaxaca, we knew we wanted to return for the birth of our second child. So here we are again!
In this blog I’ll share my thoughts on pregnancy, motherhood, politics, parenting, culture shock, stuff I love, stuff I hate and general everyday musings on life in this wonderfully vibrant city.
